Description: Large harpoon points from Northern Canada, nicely carved of walrus ivory and fitted with steel points pinned in place. These are toggle head harpoons, intended to toggle on penetrating a sea mammal. The hide line to which the head was attached would enable the hunter to retrieve the prey. Both harpoon points are of the style collected in the Cumberland Sound area of Canada after 1850 and well before 1900
