Description: Eskimo knife and ulu, probably Central Eskimo, from late in the third quarter of the 19th century or first quarter of the 20th century. The knife is of the style utilized to cut blocks of snow for house/igloo construction, however it is smaller than most. The ulu is large, with a musk ox handle. The inscription on these pieces indicates that both were collected a Ft. Hearne in Northern Canada in 1934, at the mouth of the Copper Mine River.
