Description: Trade beads have been imported into the Arctic since the earliest contact. These strands of beads, one primarily of blue, and the other of green, date to the last quarter of the 19th century or before. The blue string of trade beads was collected by artist and writer Claire Fejes in Point Hope, Alaska in the 1950s.
