Description: This was probably a 4 or 5 foot long atlatl dart that was broken or cut to facilitate its use as a knife. The side notched projectile is heavily wrapped in with sinew and shows exaggerated dullness on the edges from use as a cutting tool. In ancient times the haft was decorated with numerous "cuts" that look like scales.

Discovered about 1930 in an Anasazi bowl that was hidden in the malapi south of Grants, New Mexico.
